The World Serpent: CUSTOMIZABLE
Looking to personalize your game room? Immortalize an adventuring party? Or just bring that special touch to your questing sessions.
Using the shape, features, design aesthetic and font as The World Serpent, you can have your own personalized hanging wooden keepsake.
This is the customizable version of the World Serpent sign. Here, you will be able to:
Choose your own text, including the plaque engraving
Choose either worn dark red background or a worn grey/green background
Choose either yellow colored text or white.
The following elements will remain the same as the original
Intentionally weathered and distressed shield shape complete with gouges, scratches and worn paint
Layered distressing techniques of paint, stain and raw wood.
Brass hardware tacks along the outer edge
Fantasy style font with flourish details on the capital letters
The text and plaque are separate cutouts that are glued to the top of the sign.
A black chain anchored to the top
3 coats of spray lacquer as a finish (not intended for outdoor use)
Approximate dimensions: 16” long x 12” wide x 3/4” thick
TIPS FOR CHOOSING TEXT
This sign looks best with a definite article (THE) as the top word, as it balances well with the lower plaque.
For the main 2 lines of text, it should be one word per line only, the exception being an ampersand (&) in the first line.
The first main word line will be slightly smaller than the second line, and as you can see in the examples it looks best when it’s able to “nest” slightly within the flourishes of the next line, therefore it’s ideal if the first word has fewer letters than the second.
In most cases, I’ll be able to add floruishes to not only the capital letters, but also the final letter of the second word for another artistic touch. If for some reason I cannot or it won’t look good, I’ll let you know.
If you don’t need a specific location text (like INN), you can instead have a short date, or even a small engraving if you choose. The engraving will be small and subtle, and you will need to provide it.
These are all made by hand and made to order by one person: me. Most custom orders take between 3-4 weeks to complete.
