Handmade Wooden Dungeon Master's screen: The Stronghold

$215.00

You're a DM, you need to be in organized, in control, and your gear needs to look the part. Forget those cheap cardboard screens, it's time to upgrade to The Stronghold, inspired by the look of worn fortress gates.

Each of these wooden DM screens are handmade. After many sessions of testing various options, I've come up with some really great and stylish ways to keep your information away from prying eyes, but to allow your necessary accessories to look like they belong in a fantasy world.

Each screen has 3 solid wooden panels: an 11 3/4" x 18" center panel and 2 hinged doors measuring 11 3/4" x 9". This is not thin plywood. A combination of paint and stain are used to further accentuate the worn feel of the whole piece.

Magnets are embedded inside at 4 key points to hold 4 full-sized sheets of notes, with additional mating magnets supplied to attach them together. Decorative hardware tacks adorn each panel and provide a nice color and material contrast, and a leather snap keeps the doors closed. (The metal latch is no longer being used) Aesthetic wear and distressing techniques are used throughout to give the old and weathered look, and a set of heavy-duty cast iron decorative straps tie together that look of old fortress doors.

Finally, you can now easily keep track of your combat encounters with the incredibly useful initiative tracker. 16 double sided dry erase markers fit right into the top of each panel and can be moved around at will. 2 dry erase markers are also included.

FEATURES
-- Distressed wooden trim along the entire top and bottom
-- brass hardware tacks in the wood strips
-- 4 magnets embedded inside the panels for holding notes
-- 4 additional pairing magnets to keep your notes pinned to the inside
-- 4 genuine iron gate hardware straps, one on each door and 2 on the center panel (the shape and style of these vary based on what I have in stock. If you are interested in what the actual hardware will look like, please reach out to me.
-- hand made leather snap to keep the doors closed
-- an initiative tracker slot along the top of all of 3 panels
-- includes 16 double-sided initiative trackers that can be marked on with dry or wet erase pens (seriously, this is the best). 2 different colored dry erase pens are included.

I’ve found that the red, green and black/grey color choices world best with this style, and the overall color ends up being a nice shade once stain has been applied. Please note that every screen is an individual process, and as such the distressing techniques, the look of wear, and the application of color will not look identical to the original, but will be close.

These are all made by hand and made to order by one person: me. Most orders take between 3-4 weeks to complete. See holiday shipping info below.

Orders will normally ship via UPS or USPS, whichever is most affordable considering the weight.
Thanks! Don’t hesitate to message me with any questions, I’m happy to answer!
