Strongjaw Alehouse sign

$250.00

If Grog Strongjaw would ever stop raging long enough to open up his own business, I’d imagine this would be it. This sign is truly one of a kind with a hand-distressed shape inspired by rough hewn wood signs that might have adorned a tavern in a fantasy town.

The entire sign has been intentionally distressed by hand to look old and weathered with strategically placed gouges, cutouts and even axe chops (yes, from an actual hatchet). The city name of Vasselheim is engraved into the top crossbar, and into the bottom crossbar is Grog’s favorite greeting: Bidet. The text is glued on top of the sign for additional depth, and the ale mug engraving below is the perfect icon for the alehouse. A couple of lengths of rope are strung through the crossbars to give it that improvised look, but the planks are assembled quite securely together. Finally, a black chain is affixed to the top to complete the tavern look and provide easy hanging on a wall or a bracket.

As every sign is made by hand, no two will be exactly alike, and the worn features will vary from piece to piece. Each sign is coated with a few layers of spray lacquer, but these are intended to hang indoors and are not weather treated. Please expect up to 3-4 weeks for completion.

This is for the Strongjaw Alehouse sign as it appears here. If you’re looking to customize your own, please see my other listing here in the store where you can personalize the name and use this template.
